Talk about a perfect spring engagement session with Caitlin and Drew- the sun was warm, the flowers were out and it was a beautiful day! We were introduced to Caitlin and Drew by one of our other upcoming brides, Linda (of recent Linda, Sean, and Remy session fame). Much like when we met with Linda and Sean, meeting with Caitlin and Drew was one of those times where Debby had to make me shut up so people could go enjoy their day because it felt like finding old friends (that you somehow never met). We bonded over brews at D9 Brewing up in Lake Norman, which if you know us – is already bonus points for anyone picking to meet us at a brewery vs a coffee shop… it’s no hate thrown at coffee, but it is love thrown towards people who enjoy fun times! Fast forward some months and you’ll find us running around Andrew Jackson State Park with the two of them, picking right back up where we left off.
One of my favorite things to watch unfold is when someone tells me, “I’m not good at photographs” or are overly worried they won’t do well, and then as soon as we begin snapping they come to life! Within seconds of our first snap (technically a few seconds before if we’re going to get down to the real talk), Drew jumped to life and was being the perfect mix of romantic, silly, playful, and sweet that I kinda always hope our grooms will be… couple that with Caitlin’s pretty much always “camera ready” self and you have non-stop shenanigans the whole time we were shooting! (I’ll point out that Linda & Sean had similar concerns… as far as I’m concerned – if you know these two couples – bring it… they obviously hang around, all looking awesome, being fun, and not even cocky about it – we’ll happily accept you in front of our camera any day) The time flew, we chatted a lot (surprise), and when all was said and done… we even got to do a fun silhouette picture because Caitlin had really taken to the one we’ve used as our FB cover photo for a while now… so not ones to just duplicate efforts, we still made sure she had her own one! (I’ve never had a horse show up in a silhouette before, so bonus points for that) If you’ve read this far, then get ready to enjoy a super sweet couple before I have a chance to write some other interjection in parenthesis, as I am known to do! 😉
